Information Systems Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION

This position is responsible for directing all activities of the Information Systems team related to design, installation, maintenance activities and technical support activities for all computer and telecommunication hardware and software in a Microsoft networking environment for TriTech internal infrastructure, sales proposals for new accounts and installations for new and existing customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plans, organizes and manages the daily IT department activities.
• Manages and provides technical support for servers, network, SAN, PC’s and laptops.
• Oversees administration of all telecommunication needs including but not limited to phone switch (PBX), cell phones, and PDA support.
• Performs complex software/hardware troubleshooting, patches and re-installations.
• Responsible for local inventory maintenance and software license management.
• Responsible for monitoring data backups, data recovery planning and testing.
• Establishes company standards for information technology.
• Plans and implements new technology for the internal infrastructure including department specific applications.
• Responsible for procurement, installation and life-cycle maintenance of IT hardware and software (includes PCs, peripherals, servers, networking equipment, operating systems and other software.
• Responsible for maintenance of systems documentation.
• Establishes written policies and procedures.
• Reviews departmental requests for technology and makes recommendations, as appropriate, on alternative system options.
• Plans, manages and evaluates the work of professional, technical and other support staff.
• Evaluates technology and makes recommendations to ensure compatibility and effectiveness with internal systems as well a customer system deployment.
• Recommends fiscal or budgetary requirements necessary to maintain service within the department.
• Other assignments as may be provided.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

• Minimum five years related experience with the information systems management and administration within a Microsoft networking environment, as well as working knowledge of Ethernet and TCP/IP protocol networking and common Microsoft desktop applications. 

• Proficient technical understanding of computers, applications and operating systems, and the ability to plan and prioritize multiple tasks/projects. 

• Ability to train and instruct users on Microsoft desktop applications. 

• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. 

• Able to work independently as well as with others for the required hours of the position.

EDUCATION

BS degree in Information Systems and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Professional certifications (MCP/MCSE/CCNA) highly desired.
