Interface Configuration Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Interface Configuration Engineer will report to the Director of Program Management. The primary responsibility of the Interface Configuration Engineer is configuration and testing of Standard Interfaces to third party applications. The Interface Configuration Engineer will translate client operational requirements into specific configuration specifications and procedures, configure the interfaces, and perform testing of the configurations with the Client and third party vendors.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Under the direction of the assigned System Engineer, perform functional and operational analysis of Client requirements and data and manage the configuration of the standard interfaces.
- Based upon TriTech specifications and client requirement documentation (including completed configuration sheets), specify and implement configuration options for Standard Interface software modules based on documented business rules and client operational requirements.
- Perform and manage the Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP) as required to validate the performance of the Interface software in accordance with the applicable documentation.
- Under supervision of System Engineering Staff, develop software requirement documentations and Acceptance Test Procedures.
- Under the direction of the assigned System Engineer, develop and update documentation for Interface configuration and related processes.
- Develops and maintains an expert knowledge of VisiCAD and the interactions between VisiCAD and Interfaces, VisiNet Mobile and VisiNet Browser
- Travel domestically and internationally as required to complete project deliverables.
- Other assignments as may be provided.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Working knowledge of Client Server architecture and environments including Windows 2003 and SQL 2005; Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Basic understanding of Software Requirements and ability to map the requirements to available configuration options.
- Knowledge of transport protocols, relational databases, XML and SQL desirable.
- Experience in Software testing, and basic knowledge of Visual Basic, and C# a plus.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong organizational, task management and coordination skills; and ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team environment that includes all levels of management, clients, vendors and subcontractors.
- Attention to details is essential for this position.
EDUCATION
Associate degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
