JOB DESCRIPTION

This position is responsible for developing new applications, enhancing existing applications, solving problems, and resolving defects. The engineer will review requirements, develop the design of features (including the relevant documentation), develop applications prototypes, participate in design and code reviews, and program (including unit testing). The engineer must be able to demonstrate technical proficiency in his/her personal work as well as contribute to the team’s continued success by increasing her/his technical knowledge.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

• Minimum 2 years programming experience
• Visual Studio .NET, Windows Forms, especially C# (minimum 1 year)
• Visual Studio 6.0, especially VB and VC++ (minimum 2 years)
• SQL (minimum 1 1/2 year); T-SQL (minimum 1 year)
• COM (minimum 2 years)
• XML (minimum 1 year)
• OOD/OOP (minimum 1 year)
• Multi Threading (minimum 1 year)
• Full lifecycle experience
• Architecture and design work a plus
• Solid verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to gain new technical skills and system knowledge quickly
• Experience in the public safety industry is helpful but not required

The selected applicant will be a self-starter, able to work independently as well as part of a team, and have a proven track record.

EDUCATION

B.S. in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
